Pokemon Project: Venonat



I've always thought Venomoth was pretty cool. I thought about making it into a hair bow instead, but I decided against it. Luckily, I still had stuff left over from the Caterpie family, so I only bought one more strand of beads for this one.

Venonat:


Venonat is just a simple purple hairball with big red eyes. The ovals were left over from the Butterfree necklace, and the red was left over from the Gloom bracelet and Vileplume necklace.

 Venomoth:


One of my favorite bracelets ever, made with memory wire and a magnet clasp. The purple beads are new from ebay, and the butterfly beads are left over from the Butterfree necklace.

This is one set that I want to keep, but I know that I should sell it. If I love it this much, I know somebody else will.

Pokemon Project: Bulbasaur

I did it. My first ever complete jewelry set. The first Pokémon family in the official list - the Grass-type starter Pokémon that started it all, Bulbasaur. It's one of those Pokémon that even my mother recognizes. Unfortunately, my camera's flash isn't working as well as it could. If it was, you would be able to see the pretty green I chose for my beads. I've decided to keep the set, anyway. Bulbasaur: The earrings were made with beads I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. Ivysaur: I used the same strands of beads for the bracelet, and this one does have an error. I used two pink beads in a row when the pattern said no, but I did decide to keep these. UPDATE: I changed the chain closure to a flower toggle clasp, in keeping with the Ivysaur theme. Venusaur: I used beads from the other two sets for the necklace, and I didn't get those from the clearance aisle. I did get the big pink beads from another clearance strand, and I made the charm

Introduction

Hi, I'm Nora, and I have a creativity addiction. I've been running the Baking in Black cooking blog for years, but I haven't been doing much for it lately. That's why I started a blog for any other kind of creativity. Here, I'll show pictures of my current projects, links to my video tutorials on YouTube, my self-imposed challenges, and entire blog posts on where I get my inspiration from. Pokemon Project: Spearow

Since the broken necklace from the auction gave me enough brown beads to make Fearow, I did not go shopping for this family. It took a while to get started even after I had the design in mind, because my wrist was bothering me again. Again, I used only leftover beads, so I didn't have to spend any money. Spearow: These earrings used two of the last four feathers, and some shiny beads from my Pidgeot necklace. Fearow: This bracelet used some of the beads from a broken necklace, the same one I used for Raticate's bracelet. It also has beads in it that I bought for the Pidgey line. I'm still going on this challenge. I am also starting to feel the strain on my budget. But I have a craft fair coming up and am still looking for jobs, so I might be able to replace some of what I spent on this project.
